Sunday Family Time

We had Grandma and Grandpa F. and Uncle Damon, Aunt Kathy, and Aaron over for a little playtime and lunch on Sunday. We all went to the park by our house and Aaron and I had a blast.
I love the teeter totter.
Usually Mommy sits on the other side, but it was a nice change to have someone my size teetering with me.
Ziplining. That's major stuff, ya know.

Going down the slide with Daddy.

It was so much fun!

Eating lunch after the park. Grandma and Grandpa just bought me this new table and I love it. I am eating a lot of meals/snacks outside now!

Helping Daddy in the yard

I woke up from my nap and realized that Daddy was working really hard on our landscaping, so I wanted to help. I thought if nothing else, I could bring him some water. I also picked up a dish for Bubba because he was rolling around in the fresh black mulch helping Daddy, thus staining him and making him stink (which quickly resulted in a thorough bath with the hose because our little white indoor dog is not allowed to roam our house even the least bit dirty) and looked really thirsty, too.

Hollering at Daddy so he knew I was awake and ready to help.

Here I come, Daddy!

One sec, Daddy. I need a water break.

Don't worry, there won't be any backwash.
Nope, I am totally not backwashing right now.

See, I told you. (I am saying "cheese" here).
Actually, Daddy, I think I'll stay here and finish my water. You're not that thirsty, right?

Feed the birds

Mommy has been wanting to put a Hummingbird feeder up for the past 2 years. This year, we finally did it!

We put it up on Saturday and as of the following Tuesday we hadn't seen a single piece of evidence that the feeder had fed any of our little fluttery-winged friends. We would watch and watch and the birds showed no love. We were getting very impatient anxious to see some birds, so we put a call into the ever-so-wise Gammy. Thanks to some wonderful advice, Mommy added a touch of red bling to the feeder and VOILA...the next day we had birds! We think we have either 2 or 3 feasting on our sugar water.

It took a couple days to get evidence of one of our sweet little friends feeding (those rascals are quite skittish and quickly fly away at the sight of Mommy approaching with her big black camera lens), but finally today, Mommy got it! It's not a great picture because it's been taken through a window screen and not quite the "garden view" that Mommy was hoping for, but how incredible is it to know that this little guy now relies on us for his nourishment!?! We think it's pretty awesome!

Hello? Hi Daddy!

Whenever I hear a phone ring or see a phone, I say "Hello". Then as soon as I get my hands on the phone, I put it to my ear and say "HelllllLLLO? HIIIIIIIIIII-EEE!" In this particular instance, we were on our way home from the pool and I was telling Daddy all about the fun I had!

Sorry, the picture isn't very clear because Mommy took it with her iPhone.

Language/Communication update

This morning, out of the blue, I said the word "tongue". Mommy was astonished as she hasn't made it a point to teach me this word and has never pointed to the body part and say the word. But while my diaper was being changed, I reached my finger into Mommy's mouth and said "tongue" very clearly. When she had me repeat it on the phone to Gammy, she enunciated every letter like she usually does, and I repeated it as "tun-ga"!

So this little demonstration today reminded Mommy of what a little sponge I am. She stopped posting my new words and signs a while back because I literally say at least 1 new word (and sometimes as many as 3 or 4) daily. Some of these words are: please, keys, bib, flower, teeth, chin, knee, Matt, Josh, wash, pop, cracker, kix, cereal, doggie, shoes....the list seriously goes on and on....and on...and on. And on. I think words beginning or ending with "sh" are my favorite. I also say "Mom" ALL THE TIME and "Daddy" about 500 times a day. Mommy and Mama are no longer in my vocabulary. This makes Mom very sad because it shows how old I am getting!

I have a lot of new 2-3 word phrases and am saying multiple words at a time much more often. For instance, I say "I don't know" (while shrugging my shoulders and facing my hands toward the sky), "milk please", "hat off", "no Bubba", "down Bubba", "i love you" (i luh ooh) and just tonight I repeated after my Grandma with "Yeah, sure".

Sponge. The most absorbent kind!

Warming the House

Aunt Beth and Uncle Matt moved into a new house in Cincinnati, where my Aunt Beth is going to work as a doctor. They invited us and a bunch of other people to come help warm up their house. You know, a housewarming party. So, Mommy, Daddy, Bubba and I drove down to do our part. Coincidentally, some of my friends were there, too!
I hadn't met David and Florence, but I'd seen so many pictures of them that it seemed as if I'd known them forever. They are turning 1 year old next month, so it was a long overdue meeting, to say the least!

And what do you know? My good old Buddy, JT, came to hang out with me! They only live a little over a mile from Aunt Beth and Uncle Matt's new house! We had a lot of fun playing ball.

I am obviously very fond of JT! If this isn't a Kim Anderson moment, then I don't know what is!
Something was making me laugh.

Oh, that's right. It was JT standing on his head!
I played some cornhole with Mikey.

And posed for a sweet picture with Gammy and Poppy.

Then I had some watermelon with Gammy.
And snagged some chips and dip.
Gammy gave me lots of kisses that tickled!!
I was Aunt Beth and Uncle Matt's very first house guest in their new house. Soon enough, I was partied out and it was time for bed. I went to sleep very soundly as the party continued. I think it went pretty late, because I awoke to quite the mess and felt very compelled to clean up. You're welcome, Aunt Beth and Uncle Matt!

I hope your house is very warm now. It sure is beautiful! Thanks for having us over for such a fun party!!

Snapping and telling Bubba "down"

I was being a goofball the other day while Mommy was unloading groceries from the car. I put on my "hat" (helmet) and played the radio on my Barbie Jeep, dancing around and snapping my fingers. Watch me snap and listen for when I tell Bubba "down" after he jumps up on me!

Show Day

Last week was my last week of Gym for the semester. Just like last semester, we had a show day where we perform many of the things we learned. Daddy came to watch and I showed him all my techniques. (Excuse the horrible quality of pictures. We had our camera on some funky setting and the fluorescent lighting just does not help!)

Let me show you, too!
Sitting on the mat. Now, that is talent!

Hanging from the bars. I hang for a really long time!

Walking on the beam.

Dismount!

We use the bells for our welcome song and our goodbye song. Two of my favorite parts of class!

Clapping to the music.

Just being a goober.

Accepting my medal (and looking thrilled about it). Notice I am wearing it like a sash!

Big girl swing

Sometimes Mommy says I'm 18 months, going on 30. 30 years, not months! I always want to do what the big kids are doing. My neighbors (who are 6, 11, and 12) are some of my best friends. We play together several times a week, even several times a day. I could watch big kids for hours. I like to observe and then try things for myself. A few weeks ago, I wanted to ride on the big girl swing. Mommy wasn't so sure about this, but after seeing how well I sit on it and how tightly I hold on, she felt a little more comfortable. I only swing on these swings with an adult close behind me (I promise, Gammy!) and I love it so much. I still like the baby swing, but the change is nice every once in a while.
